New at this?   Well let's get started!   What kind of scrap-book would you like to make right now?   Heritage Album, Wedding Album, Baby or Child's Book about them, an Annual Album, Special Event or Vacation?

Start by organizing your photos, think about what you want to be part of your scrapbook. Even your momentos can be scanned to become part of your digital scrapbook, so don't fret about having to leave anything out! (and no more bumps in the pages)

Do your photos need restoration, we have you covered! They can be scanned and the copy restored digitally and you will still have the original photo. We have some tips or can restore them for you. If you have a box full of photos, they should be arranged by year first, you can break-down events or holidays easier this way. Any memories you have of that photo or a story comes to mind, write it down and keep it with those photos.

We also recommend a little homework to gather some important information for this journey... a timeline sheet (easily done on paper or on a spreadsheet in excel ), dates and notes about births, marriages, names to put with the faces, events (such as when you moved to your first home, family gatherings, a special party ) or vacation places, etc. This only needs to be done once, you can keep adding to it over the years, print a copy for YOUR scrapping companion notebook.

As the years roll by, you'll be surprised what you may forget!

Sketches

These will save you time later, if you start with a plan ... and a way to keep track of what you used.   Note a special font and size that you used for consistancy throughout your pages.   Journaling notes, layout that inspired you, dates, names... color #'s, papers & elements you might want to use, or whatever you thought about when picking out the photos.

The next one was a 2-page spread plan, with a copy of the template that was used for the pages.   Because templates can be altered, they can be used over and over again... sometimes with new colors, different elements, etc.

(TIP: Always duplicate your original template before you begin to change it).
